Yeah...this should be for keeps--and why can't gay marry?
BRITNEY SPEARS is going for it one more time, baby! ET has confirmed that Britney is engaged to backup dancer KEVIN FEDERLINE. Yes, the 22-year-old is ready to walk down the aisle again, but this time she's apparently going to take a more traditional route.
Her 55-hour Las Vegas marriage to childhood friend JASON ALEXANDER back in January ended in an annulment. And Federline has been by Britney's side consistently as she recovers from arthroscopic surgery on her knee, which forced her to cancel the remainder of her Onyx Hotel Tour. Marrying Federline will also make Britney a step-mom -- he has a 2-year-old with actress SHAR JACKSON, who's also currently pregnant with his second child.
And they worry that gays disrespect marriage?
Maybe this is starting over or maybe starting better... Either way it is starting something

Who Needs Buhdda?
I am passing this on to you because it has definitely worked for me and at this time of year, we all could use a little calm by following the simple advice I read in an article, I have finally found inner peace.
The article read:
"The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you've started."
So I looked around the house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of red wine, some green cheese, the Bailey's, the Kahlua, the Prozac, some Valium, a few other pills, some cheesecake and a half empty box of edible underwear.
You have no idea how good I feel ...
You may pass this on to those you feel are in need of "Inner Peace" as well.

Why I Fear Cars.
Motorist ran into his own car
A Swiss car insurance firm has been sent a bill by a motorist after he literally ran into the back of his own car while chasing it as it rolled off down a hill.
The Swiss man who was not named had parked his car on a steep hill at Chur in Switzerland - but forgot to pull the hand brake on.
As he walked away the vehicle started to roll down a hill.
The motorist gave chase and had almost caught the car when it suddenly stopped after colliding with a kerb.
The speeding motorist was unable to stop and collided with the car, sticking his head through the window and denting the rear panels.
He was taken to local hospital where he was treated for cuts and bruises.

Being A “Single”.
Started out as an ordinary Saturday night—informal party, cute outfit, light drinking. All the usual suspects were there and we were doing our normal thing. Davis and I were on the porch, taking a smoke break and talking about some girls he had just met. We laughing as he explained how he isn’t really looking for much. I warned him to be careful about that and he talked about how he wanted to meet a single girl. I laughed at the sentiment and cracked some joke about open relationships and Davis just shook his head. He explained how I was just like him—“a single”. At first I took offense, did it mean that I was somebody who is just a loner? Somebody better off without a relationship? Davis realized what he had started and how I might take it. He assured me that it wasn’t a dig but that I was just a different type of person like him, like Valeska. I wondered what made us different than most of our single friends. They’re normal people, just looking for love, for someone to share things with. I guess what makes us “singles” is a difference in how we do dating. A single doesn’t look at a girl’s phone number as an unclaimed lottery prize or expect the guy they met at the bar to call the next morning. We don’t spend days imagining Sunday mornings lounging in bed after one date at Vitello’s. And we never let them make us dinner or meet their friends till after we have gotten to know each other—which always takes longer than three dates. We have learned to go out for drinks and not scan the bar for Mister Right, that a Friday spent with a bottle of wine and a good book can be the best thing in the whole wide world. We go to clubs because we like to dance, to parties to be with our friends and can handle coffee for one at a nice café. We know that being alone sometimes isn’t the worst fate in the world. It’s not that we don’t want a relationship, love, someone to curl up next to at night—it’s just that we are willing to take our time to be sure that‘s real and not just taking the first available person. We’re not stoic or cold or jaded, but that we can see the difference between wanting and needing a relationship. And that one is much worse than the other. But the best part is that we’re fine either way. We don’t waste time asking, “why didn’t he?” or “why aren’t I?” but know that when the time is right then it will happen. We don’t expect Prince Charming to be standing at our door some random day nor to find him after one movie and a couple of cocktails. We don’t notice the wait because we’re too busy living our lives to be lonely. I guess at the end of the day, that’s the ultimate difference between being single and being a “single”; we know the difference between being lonely and alone. Being single is going on the porch for a smoke break and hoping “he” joins you while being a “single” is taking a smoke break, looking at the stars and enjoying the view.

Just what we need to do...
A good friend of mine, Max, wrote this and I felt the need to share...tis important...
hello to you all, (is that so much harder than 'howdy y'all', I mean, I murder then English language on a regular basis, but really... jesus, *wait*; I haven't even finished the salutation and already I'm ranting aimlessly and losing focus... ok, back to business...)
hello my friends,
This is Memorial Day, and to most, it is a day off and a barbecue. To some, it is an opportunity to wax poetic on the ultimate sacrifice paid by our troops killed in war. For me, it sometimes is my birthday, but not this year. But I am using this opportunity to ask you two very important questions:
Do you know anyone in Iraq? and if you do know someone there, are you happy they are over there?
I would say most of my friends and relatives don't, because coming from a middle class to upper class background, as most of you do, we didn't have to join the army. Most of us got to go to college and some of us (ok, you) even graduated...
Who is our army? Without the draft, our Army is a volunteer army. And who volunteers? The lower classes and the extraordinarily noble or misguided. And who controls this army? Our government -- and who is the Government? Elected by the people (mostly) but propped up by big business and usually members of the upper class. This has always been in certain degrees (lower class army vs. upper class government) but it has never been worse than today.
I look at our situation in Iraq, and even rejecting 95% of the propaganda on BOTH sides of the argument, it boils down to this: I keep reading the news and analyzing the situation, mulling everything over in my brain and I just can't believe that after Korea AND Vietnam, we have let our government do this to our Armed Forces AGAIN. We have invaded a country for the wrong reason and we not only have absolutely no business being there, now that we are there, we have no idea how to get out.
I have all the respect in the world for our fighting men and women. I believe that a strong armed force is necessary. I am not some namby-pamby intellectual peacenik who thinks the worlds problems can be talked out over tea and crumpets; solutions to age old problems are never that easy. But I also believe that (I can't believe I am going to say this in this manner, but nothing else is coming to mind, so for all you comic geeks, this one's for you) with great power comes great responsibility. If we build a large, powerful army, we should use it correctly. For defense of our country. Period. Somehow the protection of our interests and righting wrongs (comic book hero style) got into the equation. Now, if we could fight every evil dictator out there, great, we rule. But (and it's a big BUT) we have picked and chosen our enemies only where our economic interests are at stake. In Africa, there are a dozen civil wars, with more atrocities than you can shake an anal-placed cattle prod at, are going on right as you read this. Are we lifting finger one to help? Nope. The oil is in the middle east, not Namibia. Now, am I simplifying this? Damn right. I need to, because I need to get to my point: Who is to blame for this? George W. Bush. That's easy. But who do we blame for GWB?
We have no one to blame but ourselves. We have allowed this charlatan in the White House (illegally, I might add). Then, even worse, allowed him to bend a tragic situation like 9/11 into the justification for the illegal war in Iraq (and Afghanistan, where Halliburton is building a $12.8 billion pipeline at taxpayer expense...where is that on your network news? but that again, is another email). We sit back and 'tsk tsk' and hate our government and yet we do very little to change it. We were all so fascinated by Clinton and his blow job peccadilloes, but when Bush lies to our faces during the State of the Union on a yearly basis, we don't do a thing and rarely talk about it. We look skeptically at the media, try to find holes in the story to piece together the non-bias nonpartisan truth and feel helpless. Yet we do little to understand the corporate ownership of media conglomerates and how that affects what we are told. The FCC changes laws so that the top 6 media companies can own all the news you hear, and then they go on and on about Janet Jackson and Howard Stern and we just take it. The FCC is a board that is appointed, so we have to take great care in who we elect to appoint these people, and this is just one example (don't get me started about the Supreme Court). We seem to go about our lives and hope beyond hope that it will all work itself out. Meanwhile, our energy prices are through the roof, the economy is in shambles and we can't even begin to fathom the reason why? We have our war, like it or not, and even then, things are not improving. When gas prices go up, prices for EVERYTHING go up and it's not like that raise is gonna come through (some of us have even been asked to work without income, but that is also another email). What do we do about it?
Hopefully, we vote. Look, politics is a painful and hypocritically polarized process. And, like Bill Hicks said, the two major parties are just puppets on the hands of a single evil called 'corporate america' but let's face facts: we need change. Now. Right now. I don't even think we can wait until November, but baring a coup, we are gonna have to. I ask that all of you register to vote (if you haven't already) and vote for John Kerry. Or Ralph Nader. Or Mickey Mouse. But not George W. Bush. Anyone but Bush. Please. We need to take america back and while Kerry certainly doesn't seem like the solution, we already know that GWB is not. He has lied about WMD to get his war and he has lied to cut taxes that put more money in the top 1% of america while using tactics like tax 'refunds' to fool the american people that he is making their lives better. He has run on a policy of republican lies (trickle down economics, elimination of the bill of rights through the US PATRIOT act, religious justification for state policy, and small government spending MORE - not less - on corporate -- not public - interests...just to name a few of my favorites) and those policies have failed miserably. To put this in perspective, because of his religious objection to stem cell research, even Nancy Reagan hates GWB.
This all comes back to my question: Do you know anyone in Iraq and are you happy they are there? I would truly like to hear about anyone you do. I do not, so I have no frame of reference. If you know anyone who has given their lives, I am sorry and I hold them in high respect. Plenty of people died defending this country for the wrong ideals, that doesn't make their passing any less tragic. My beef is with Bush, not the members of the Armed Forces.
I have one other request. Please vote on November 2. Vote. It is the only way you can stop the republicans and take our country back. We need change. We need to change ourselves and our attitudes, sure. But first and foremost, we need to change our leadership. And we can't blame the 'process' or the 'supreme court' this time. They already tried that trick. We need to come out in large force and vote GWB out of office. Tell your friends, relatives, coworkers, heck, even your bartender to vote.
Thank you for your time and patience with me on my way to my point.

The Strangest Memories...
So I am sitting in my apartment, working on my new play, just typing with the radio playing in the background... Listening to the easy listening station because sometimes it is just easier than dealing with the new stuff when I was overcome with the most random of memories...
I was on the Common back in Boston, on a blanket at the free Mix 98.7 concert with random friends. It was early and warm with a bad act on stage... She is singing a remix of an 80's fav and we were all insulting her, making fun of her dancing... I think someone (most likely me) yelled a borderline death at the too old woman doing too awkward dance steps and for a moment, here in LA... I had to laugh at how we all once were...
DAMN YOU NIKKI FRENCH AND YOUR BAD COVER OF "TOTAL ECLISPE OF THE HEART"!

Metropolitan Feeling....
Young and pretty, New York City girl...
25, 35 hello baby, New York City girl...
You grew up riding the subways, running with people,
Up in Harlem, down on Broadway.
You're no tramp but you're no lady, talking that street talk.
You're the heart and soul of New York City.
And love...love is just a passing word.
It's that thought you had in a taxi cab, that got left on the curb when he dropped you off and he stated "Girl...you're a native New Yorker."
You should know the score by now, you're a native New Yorker."

The men I met...
A while back I started an e-mail flirtation with this guy Teejay... One day, he wrote something about having a new boyfriend and then he didn't write me for a month... So I assumed things are done... Then out of the blue he emails me and when i ask about the bf... He tells me it was his roommate pulling a prank... I don't believe him that much... But then he e-mails this
When you thought i was seeing someone you took yourself off my friends list....do you think of me as a potential BF?
And so I wrote back this
Hmmm... Interesting question. Whathappened was one, the picture on your profile changed. There was a blog posting and then you didn't write me for almost a month... I figured that you were looking at me as bf potienal and weren't interested in talking with me anymore. So I decided that you were done with me and I cut my losses. Honestly, I don't know what I want but if you are one of those guys who just wants any guy for a boy friend then time is being wasted. (sorry to be blunt but you wanted honesty.
So now what? Hmm...

Just a moments pause
Okay, this will make me a major loser but as a huge fan of General Hospital--I just wanted to take a moment to pause and thank Anna Lee (Lila Quatermaine) for all her great years of work and memories. She passed away this past Sunday night. Thanks for the great memories where ever you are.

Things learned this Weekend—for Chloe…
Knockers are only for the front door—not the back. If you ain’t a celebrity then you ain’t going in the backdoor. Keep the hardware out of the bedroom—no need for a weapon check between the sheets. Beware of friends with balconies and hooking up with their neighbors—someone will always see you…. If he takes a shower before you go out—beware his wandering hands.

Demin Disaters!!!
I only relate this story because it has made me laugh several times since the event. Last night at about 2 in the morning I heard a slight popping sound. I didn't think anything odd about it because it was a Friday and my building has still partying hard. Imagine this morning when, in a sleep daze, I opened my closet and saw demin spread across the floor. Turns out my closet had given up the fight and decide to let loose with my entire jean collection. The bar had snapped clean in half due to the weight of my beloved pant of choice. The inventory... numbers of funky wash jeans 3 pants that make slim 2 pants that are on last legs 3 pants that were bought due to MTV 2 pants that make me look squat 3 pants that look classy yet still jeans 1 pant that look good when 10 pounds less 2 Maybe I should see what I can clear out eh?

Hard to Find Women's March on Television News
May 3, 2004
On Sunday, April 25, hundreds of thousands of people filled the streets of Washington, D.C. to demonstrate for women's reproductive rights. Crowd estimates ranged from 500,000 to 1.15 million, but it was clear that the March for Women's Lives was one of the largest demonstrations in the capital's history-and perhaps the largest ever. One might have expected, then, to see extensive coverage on national television-but a look at both network and cable news during the days surrounding the march turned up remarkably few reports. A Nexis search of the week surrounding the women's march found a total of six stories from the broadcast networks (not counting incidental mentions of the march): CBS ran one story the day of the march and two the next morning; NBC ran two stories and ABC only one, all on April 25. CNN, as a 24-hour cable news outlet, gave more extensive coverage to the event, running several reports on Sunday. But even CNN failed to treat the march as the historic occasion that it was, running just a small handful of brief march-related stories on Saturday and Monday. Other cable news outlets focused not on the march itself but on abortion opponents, a few hundred of whom held a counter-protest at the march. Of three Fox News stories found on Nexis related to the march, two focused on anti-abortion activists (Special Report with Brit Hume, Hannity & Colmes, 4/22/04). Special Report examined anti-abortion opposition to the National Education Association's endorsement of the march-a story that MSNBC also covered in that network's only march report found in the Nexis database. (Fox and MSNBC do not transcribe their news coverage as thoroughly as CNN does, so the amount of coverage on the three cable channels cannot be compared.) To put the women's march coverage in perspective, FAIR conducted a similar Nexis search of the week surrounding the Promise Keepers march in 1997. The Promise Keepers, an evangelical men's organization that has been widely accused of promoting misogyny and homophobia, drew an estimated 480,000-750,000 demonstrators to Washington-roughly three-quarters the size of the women's march. Despite its somewhat smaller size, the Promise Keepers received much more media attention: Stories began appearing on network news three days before the march and continued for two days afterward, with a total of 19 stories between the three networks-more than three times the coverage the networks devoted to the women's march. Was the Promise Keepers march three times more newsworthy than the March for Women's Lives? Why such little coverage? Women's issues routinely get short shrift in the media, and during this election year, news outlets found even more reason to discount women's voices. NBC Nightly News reporter Jeannie Ohm asked (4/25/04), "But just how big a factor will abortion rights have in the November election?... Political analysts say it's the economy and jobs, war in Iraq, homeland security and health care that will have more of an impact with undecided voters." CNN correspondent Elaine Quijano sounded a similar note (4/25/04): "This election year, each group hopes to spark renewed interest, enough to have an impact at the ballot box. But political analysts say more than three decades after Roe v. Wade, most voters have already made up their minds." A record-breaking number of people-mostly women-marched on Washington to demonstrate their commitment to women's rights and their dissatisfaction with Bush's record on women's issues. By minimizing coverage of the event and reducing women's rights to a low-ranking concern in the presidential horse race, television news stifled critical public dialogue on women's rights and health, and relegated women and their concerns to the sidelines. Sofor some odd reason I slept for two hours today... I dreamed about Thad from TW, Nanny Fine (Points if you know that) and Nicole Eggert (or was it Jamie Presley with bangs....?) It was odd and like a bad pool party/teen flick gone horribly bad. Well, until the Scott brothers from "One Tree Hill" showed up.... Then it just got creative... Oh my bad, bad, bad imagination....

in the presidential horse race, television news stifled critical public
dialogue on women's rights and health, and relegated women and their
concerns to the sidelines.
ACTION: Please let the networks know that you were disappointed by the
scant coverage given to the historic March for Women's Lives.

Berg
There is a sadness today—it began with reading Lucy’s blog about Nick Berg and the beheading. I understand how this chain of events started…9/11, Afghanistan, Iraq, the prisoner abuse, and now the death of Nick Berg. On paper it is all logical—how the soldiers were just doing what they were told, how the press released the information so that the military would be held accountable. That the government had opening hearings about to show the world that the US was serious about taking people to task for what was done to the prisoners. On some level I even understand the mentality of what was done to Nick Berg by the fundamentalists. And because I understand that progression, it becomes somewhat easy to go about my day. To food shop, sketch design plans, make dates for drinks or coffee. Where my sadness comes in is that moment when I stop and try to imagine the reality of Nick Berg. Did he realize that he was going to die? Did he think that he might get through the situation? Did he blame our government and our military for what happened to him? But what makes me saddest of all is to think of his parents. To have your child die, to have him die in such an awful way, that there is even a tape of this murder, that somewhere someone is watching it and cheering—or worse—not caring… That your son be some type of entertainment… For some reason, this makes me saddest of all.

Inspire Me...
So I had a weird moment last night... I was wondering if I was meant to be a writer and then I was watching "Motley Crue" Behind the music and Tommy Lee spoke about how he felt about his music. That he was here on earth to write music. Which made me wonder whether I really believe that I am here to be a writer... It is an interesting question. Another one to throw on the barbie...

My weekend or Rory randomness
So my weekend was filled with only the random events that I seem able to pull off. I spent friday with kirby and we went to Robbie's loft to see what type of magic I could do. He wants some help designing/cleaning up the place and is willing to pay me to do it. Of course, the major task of hanging his big ass mircowave is the ONE thing I can't seem to do. And he has given me very little direction, no budget and very little idea of what he needs first. And on top of that, I feel guilty that Kirby has to do all the work with me and stuff so... Just hard. (that and I have no idea what I will be paid when I actually do stuff.)
But Kirby and I did go see "Van Halsen" and well, I lost two hours of my life. Though I did manage to laugh alot... Saturday was Charity's day and with all out of town for the big college wedding I agreed to hang with her family for lack of other options. BUt the family is nice and friendly and it was fun. Well, untill I had to dive fully dressed into the deep end of the pool to pull out a three year old who was borderline drowning. That was a little scary but makes me glad that TW taught me CPR. Kitty was fine after she got over the shock but my smokes went on to a better place... I got burned as well but it was all good.
Then Sunday belong to my new pseudo mom--Chloe. I made my way to Hollywood and went to coffee, grocery store and other random adventures. We called Lucy after we were stalked by enmeas... That and I saw a lot of random friends that I chose not to say hi too. Don't know either. I do worry that I upset Chloe with my decision about San Fran and my neeed to wait a year--I wish that I could just make a snap choice and do it but I need t feel that I have done all I can with LA and I still feel like I haven't. Part of me wants to push her to go, not to wait and if I move up later then we can deal with it then... I just felt so bad. And it wasn't her fault. Then I got to hang at her place and have meatloaf (a new food to me) and potatoes and just hang out with her other friends... My only conculsion? That Chloe needs to hit up boxer boy... YOu know what I mean.
SO the final count of Rory's weekend.

mOney Money Money
Just kind of had a slight freak out today about money.... NOt really working and have nothing coming in is freaking me out a little bit. The big thing is I have enough to cover rent and food and the aprt bills but not enough for my other bills. I should try calling places and explain my situtation but am afraid that they will just yell at me. I guess I should just sack up but-- I just worry that they brow beat me into making promises that I can't live up to... *sigh*

And for the talent portion....
Okay... So I was watching a random coke ad when one of the kids in it opened a bottle of coke off of a guy's belt buckle while he was still wearing it. For some reason this seems like a cool trick to learn and much more acceptable than showing off how I can undo button flies with my teeth. (at least in public!)

Okay...my baby daddy is back...
Tonight saw new ads for TODD OLDMAN's new collection for Lazyboy. I love him. More than I can say. Really. I want the entire first 2 seasons of House of Style because he was on it. I owe many things of his from the Target line. I have kept a pair of pants of his that I bought my freshmen year of college. I love him.... A friend of mine in college knew friends of his and got me Todd's home phone number. I called once when drunk, listen him pick up and hung up ala "Sweet Valley High". And went to the Aladdin hotel the opening because he designed the indoor mall. Okay... Must stop thinking of him.

A Needed Push
Last night the meeting of my writing provided a needed spot check. Ruby, Kirby and I discussed several of my shortcomings and they helped me feel better about my life here and that it can be better if I choose to take steps forward. This made me realize that it is my life to choose and push forward with my goals. It helped alot.

I'm not politcal but....
Okay.... I'm not politcal but.... Okay. Am I the only one really bothered by this new wave of anti-abortion ads? The girl running at night who talks about how having an abortion would be running away from her responisbilties... (Get it? Running and running...) Or the female firefighter who talks about how her mom almost aborted her but her mom didn't just make the right choice by saving her daughter's life but her daughter saves lives... (thus meaning that all those kids lost could be doctor or cops or fire fighters...) I guess I am just kind of shocked at the cheap sentiment involved in these ads and question the sanity of those involved... I am pro choice but even I could make better anti abortion ads... (And by the way, whose mother tells their child "hey, I almost aborted you". Really now!!!) Okay, now you can yell at the gay for butting in but come on!

No Sleep Till...?
It’s odd—the last couple of nights I have barely slept. It’s not the heat, at least it has never bothered me that way before. I guess it could be some type of stress but I just finally got the job that I want, I have no real issues with any friends at the moment and have been keeping a low profile of sorts. I suspect that this stress is all because of my San Fran conversations with both Chloe and Charity. It’s hard to figure out what to do and I just feel like I can’t confide in many people about it—mostly because I think that they will try and convince me that it is not a real option. I wonder about that to, whether I’m just dodging a bullet by considering it. But I can’t over look how in love I am with that place, the way it seems to light me up and make me feel so— I don’t know… Like I came home… But this isn’t even a real choice at the moment. I wouldn’t be able to do anything for a year so—why would this be a factor now? I don’t know. Maybe it is the heat… There is a first time for everything

What's on your mind?
The Pool Boy
Random Gentle Sex Dreamer (RGSDm)
Friendly and eager. You are The Pool Boy.
A teen at heart, you anxiously move about your daily tasks, hoping, praying for a good, instant lay. You're carefree, enthusiastic, and rarely discouraged. Love is cool, but it's not for you right now. You know what is? Crotches.
My god... CROTCHES!!

How depressing
The Boy Next Door
Random Gentle Love Dreamer (RGLDm)
Kind, yearning, playful, you are The Boy Next Door. You're looking for real Love, a lot like girls do. It might not be manly, but it's sweet.
We think the next three years will be very exciting and fruitful ones for you. Your spontaneous, creative side makes you a charming date, and we think you have a horny side just waiting to shine. Or glisten, rather. You enter new relationships unusually hopeful, and the first moments are especially glorious. If you've had some things not work out before, so what.
Your exact opposite:
The 5-Night Stand
Deliberate Brutal Sex Master
On paper, most gay guys would name the Boy Next Door as their ideal mate. In the real world, however, you're often passed over for more dangerous or masculine men. You're the typical "nice guy:" without just a touch of cockiness, you're doomed with boys. A shoulder to cry on? Okay, sure. But never a penis to hold.
More than any other type, Boys Next Door evolve as they get older. As we said, many find true love, but some fail miserably in the search. These tarnished few grow up to be The Men Next Door, who are creepy as hell, offering backrubs to kids and what not.

More than any other type, Boys Next Door evolve as they get older. As we said, many find true love, but some fail miserably in the search. These tarnished few grow up to be The Men Next Door, who are creepy as hell, offering backrubs to kids and what not.

Ten Big Ones…
1) Keep working out… The yoga is helping and working in some roller blading would be nice too… But the real question is whether I can keep it when…
2) Figure out a career goal. While freelance is fun…I need something more permanent. I have some ideas but I need to figure out how to get there.
3) Look into school program to get into and how to pay for it…
4) Meet more gay men—through various events, groups and going out to clubs more often.
5) Start going out on more dates whether via the internet or random friends…
6) Find a website to write an advice column for… It is what I want to do.
7) Try and surround myself with creative people that get things done.
8) Learn to say no… There are things I don’t have to do and need to figure out what they are….
9) Car…enough said.
10) Work towards an agent.

I’m Using This… (And it is going to get me shot…)
Okay, so to expand on yesterday’s emotion… I have been rather unsatisfied with the way my writing group has been going as of late. It is not one thing but a combination of things that has just made me rather uninspired by it and by myself as well… The group was started for the best of reasons and in the best of ways—artists having coffee at 1 in the morning, talking about passion and creativity and humor and art. (Maybe that is over selling but, you know, poetic license.) I came out of that night excited to work, to have people who wanted to create and a way to share and work shop stuff… Writing is a lonely place sometimes and it is quite easy to get side tracked and lost within yourself with no one to be accountable towards… Thus PADWAD burst into my life as a ray of sunshine… And now, as of late, that sunshine as been replace by some type of overcast ennui. It is a combination of events; bad schedules, doubting members, an inability to speak up and this feeling of just… What is the point? I believe in the group—I believe that there is so much that talented people can do together, that us three have a unique routine, a way that we combined that brings out the best traits in each of us…. But now it is about people not saying what they need to, people not wanting to contribute because they feel as if they are imposing, people just afraid on many different levels. And thing is, as the one who seems to be the most confined in—I do understand where everything is coming from but I can’t be the cesspool of doubt and confusion and whatever else is currently up for debate… All I want is a place to be creative, to share and expand our crafts and a way to continue to work with some of the most talented people I know… But I can’t fix this myself and I don’t know if the group will allow for the rest dialogue that needs to happen…. But here’s to hoping so…

Another Thing that Makes Sense
Life is a Theater...Invite Your Audience Carefully.
Not everyone is healthy enough to have a front row seat in
our lives.
There are some people in your life that need to be loved
from a DISTANCE.
It's amazing what you can accomplish when you let go of or
at least minimize your time with draining, negative,
incompatible, not going anywhere relationships or
friendships.
Observe the relationships around you. Pay close attention.
Which ones lift and which ones lean? Which ones encourage
and which ones discourage?
Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are
going downhill?
When you leave certain people, do you feel better or feel
worse?
Which ones always have drama or don't really understand,
know or appreciate you?
The more you seek quality, respect, growth, peace of mind,
love and truth around you...the easier it will become for
you to decide who gets to sit in the front row and who
should be moved to the balcony of your life.
Remember that the people we hang with will have an impact on
both our lives and our income.
And so, we must be careful to choose the people we hang out
with, as well as the information with which we feed our
minds.
We should not share our dreams with negative people, nor
feed them with negative thoughts.
Who's in your front row?

A Foghorn Kind of Day
So, I am having just one of those days… Not good or bad but rather annoying in a hard to figure out way. Maybe it’s too much yoga or trying to quit smoking or feeling totally useless but somehow, right now, I am just on edge… In “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” Audrey describes it as having the reds… But I’m having a foghorn day… I came up with this idea awhile back—just to have a little foghorn the size of maybe a lighter or a flashlight… That when a annoyed one could just beep it at the offending party… Over eager sales people, scary single guys, family members who start with the sentence “What are you doing with your life?” Just—BEEP. I’m sorry bgut I don’t need to hear you nor does anyone else you come into contact with today… Thank you but try again later… I don’t want to deafen people, just stun them long enough to either run away or nnoy them as much as they have me… I guess it is a mean idea but just picturing it make me smile…

It Seems to Fit
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?" Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. Marianne Williamson

A Debt To Repay.
So I owe a debt that I don’t know yet if I can repay. It isn’t about money but rather it is an emotional one. Since Todd TV ended I have been trying to find another job to get me through the next couple of months so that I don’t go crazy or get kicked out of my apartment. I have been feeling fat, broke, untalented and very much like a loser. It is amazing how much of this has come from something as simple as finishing a job but there it is. But tonight I had a moment where it all seemed to come together. In a random way but nonetheless, an important one. A while back, ruby and I were talking about something and I guess, fighting, and it came up about how I don’t believe in her the way that she believes in me. And tonight, that idea hit home. The truth is, I don’t believe in much. My talent, my friends, my family or anything even outside of that. And even when the universe gives cause for me to change that viewpoint I still manage to ignore it. And what I have to do is just try a new tact and learn to re believe in myself. I used to, it is what got me out of Pepperell, out to LA and lead me to become something different and new. It just seems that over time that feeling has faded and been replaced by jadedness. I compare myself to others, don’t really see what I have been able to do and instead focus on all the things that don’t work. And that is not getting anywhere I want to go. So as I keep beating myself up, I just fall deeper into my hole as opposed to trying to climb out. But it is because of Ruby that I am to see myself more clearly and am more able to try and get beyond all this negativity. If someone that I respect can believe in my ability and me then maybe I can try too. And that is something that is more valuable than money or acclaim or even simple friendship. That is the idea of unconditional love. And that is something that I can try to believe in.

Ten Years Ago Today
It's funny... I still remember the first time I saw "Smells like Teenspirit" video and realizing how important it was... Changed music for me, caused me to not only find Nirvana but Tori and Alice and Pearl Jam and Tool and Soundgarden and even Hole... This is a big thing friends... So let us take a minute to remember Kurt Corbain on 10th aniversiery of his death... Thanks Kurt...

Rory randomness.
So I have been of the radar as of late… I guess I have been a little depressed and out of sorts. Just the add up of random events, the usual malaise and some soul searching. I keep getting to this point where I know I should change something but I don’t know what and that makes it hard. I wonder if I have spent my time doing the right things, trying hard enough and making the good choices. I don’t mean job wise or writing wise but I mean in a more open ended way. I just feel as if I don’t have much of importance in my life and wonder if I have spent all my energy and ability on the wrong things. My friends, my family, my living situation—just doing all the things I should as opposed to the things I really want or need. I guess we all go through this in various ways but I am trying of question things. I know that the bulk of this soul searching is coming out because of the superficial but that doesn’t make it any less real or important. I just wish I knew what to do. Don’t we all though….
